The Word of God starts in Genesis 1:1 by saying “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” The old question of what comes first “the chicken or the egg” can be answered in the creation story of Genesis. Christianity involves many paradoxes with one of them being the subject of faith.
The Bible says in Rom 10:17 that “So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
In Heb 11:6 the Bible states “But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
One paradox we must wrestle with is faith. We must have faith, yet we must develop it.
Understanding God and His attributes is critical for proper understanding and application of God’s Word. In our next few blog posts we will be looking at a number of God’s attributes.
Prayer: Lord, help our unbelief!
