God’s Everlasting Covenant

God uses the term “Everlasting Covenant” sixteen times in the King James version of the Bible.  For example, the first time was to Noah in Genesis 9:16, to Abraham in Genesis 17:7,13,19, to Moses in Lev 24:8,  to David in 2 Sam 23:5, to the nation of Israel in  1 Ch 16:17, Psa 105:10, Isa 24:5, 55:3, 61:8, Jer 3240, Eze 16:60, 37:26  and about Christ in Heb 13:20.

How many covenants has God made with mankind and how many are in effect today?  How many Everlasting Covenants does God have?  Is it sixteen? Is it two, Old Testament (Israel) and New Testament (Church)? Or is it one Everlasting (Eternal) Covenant with mankind?

Much of God’s written Word is debated today and probably nothing more than the relevance of the Old Testament (Covenant or Covenant revelations) to the Christian.

Mat 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Many states that the Old Testament/Covenant was for the Jewish people (Israel) and the New Testament/Covenant was for the Christian Church.  You do not find many that will attempt to address the question, “Has heaven earth passed away?” or how all those Biblical references (Old & New Testament) relate to the concept of an “Everlasting Covenant“.

Instead of addressing the actual Words of God, we spend time discussing what some call the spiritual covenants of “Works, Grace, Redemption”. These spiritual covenants are worthwhile to discuss, however, we need to remember these are derived by interpretation and are not directly stated in God’s Word where the “Everlasting Covenant” is!

My book God’s Covenant addresses these questions.
